SieMatic flagship store Amsterdam: From historical manison to luxury kitchen showroom
The Flagship Store in Amsterdam is part of a worldwide network of SieMatic Flagship Stores that can be found in the leading world cities such as New York, Paris, London and Beijing. SieMatic Flagship Stores function as the ultimate showrooms of the German kitchen brand. These are the preferred locations where anyone interested in, and involved with the SieMatic brand can see and experience the latest designs & innovations in real life.
The SieMatic Flagship Store Amsterdam is located at a unique spot. On the one side you’ll find the famous city canals, the Leidsestraat and the Spiegelkwartier, on the other side the Vondelpark, the Museumkwartier and the P.C. Hooftstraat. Almost literally the heart of the city. A visit to this place is an experience in itself.
An exceptional building with its own history
The SieMatic Flagship Store is located in a mansion built in 1879. At the end of the nineteenth century, the area of the Vondelpark, which was opened in 1865, was still located outside the city centre. But the wealthy bourgeoisie soon moved to the leafy surroundings. Originally, the mansion was inhabited by a family that wanted to live 'outside the city'.
From the 1970s onwards, the building changed function and became a restaurant. For decades, it was a well-known address in Amsterdam for refined dining and entertainment. Different exclusive establishments were to be found here: one of the city's first Italian restaurants, Mirafiori; the Michelin star restaurant Vossius by top chef Robert Kranenborg; The Mansion, a nightclub with three cocktail bars and two restaurants - the place to be in the trendy Amsterdam nightlife; and, at last, restaurant Sucre, specialising in desserts.
In 2014, in search of an exceptional location for the Flagship Store, SieMatic Nederland discovered the spectacular building. After a thorough renovation, “SieMatic at the Vondelpark” opened its doors on 24 September 2014. The three SieMatic lifestyles PURE, URBAN and CLASSIC are presented in our showroom as fully furnished interior spaces, designed with timeless elegance so characteristic for SieMatic collections. Made to measure to match the Dutch lifestyle and taste, and featuring exclusive kitchens as central point, the interior spaces are fitted with furniture and accessories from international top design brands. Art takes a prominent place in the high end interior design, and our showroom houses regularly the exhibitions of contemporary artists. A visit to SieMatic at the Vondelpark feels like you are visiting someone who shares your sense of style and design.

We would like to invite you to take the 'grand tour'
At the large glass entrance on Hobbemastraat you are greeted by a real eye-catcher: an exclusive island kitchen from the URBAN lifestyle, perfect for the city dweller. The central island is completed by a ceiling-high design wall unit, which integrates all the necessary household equipment and showcases interior decorations & selected tableware. The large pendant lamp by Flos, the wall covering by Kriska and the wooden floor by Oscar Ono fit perfectly the loft design of the kitchen.
Pure class in the basement
When you walk down the stairs, you enter an apartment in the PURE lifestyle. All kitchen furniture here is made to measure, tailored to the space. The luxury kitchen is equipped with all the Gaggenau appliances that a hobby cook can dream of: an extra-large oven with pizza stone, a steam oven, a tepanyaki griddle and a special induction hob for the wok. The interior of this kitchen shows the endless possibilities of patented SieMatic MultiMatic interior accessories system, which provides 30% more storage space. The kitchen and dining room are separated by a glass wall. A cabinet wall with built-in wine coolers, a sideboard with built-in B&O television, lighting by Tom Dixon and furniture by Walter Knoll complete the exclusive atmosphere.
Urban living at its best
In the basement on the side of Vossiusstraat, which is used as a guesthouse by several neighbours in this chic street, you’ll find the iconic SieMatic29 sideboard, the award-winning piece of furniture, inspired by the very first kitchen sideboard produced by SieMatic's in series in the 1920s. This fresh and contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional side board has been awarded in 2016 with German Design Award. In front of the window stands an island kitchen from the lifestyle PURE Collection, distinguished with German Design Award 2019.
Room for innovation in the Technology Room
An exclusive contemporary kitchen is unthinkable without innovative, practical and sustainable built-in appliances. In collaboration with Siemens, we designed in the Flagship Store of Amsterdam the Technology Room. Here you can become acquainted with various cooking and baking techniques and experience the latest innovations in the field of cooling and dishwashing. An overview of the kitchen sanitary ware by Franke and Floww completes the display, and allows you to easily choose the best equipment for your future kitchen.
Design and materials library: space for imagination
On the first floor of the showroom, you are welcome to discuss your lifestyle and kitchen requirements with our interior designers in the 'Planning & Scribble' room. Our extensive materials library allows you to put together the desired finishing’s and colour combinations, browse through our architecture books and consult the Architects' Library, which contains all kinds of fine examples in the field of kitchen & interior design to inspire you for your project.
Minimalism and luxury to the last detail
Overlooking the Vondelpark, two bespoke design kitchens of the PURE lifestyle inspire the amateurs of the purist design. The first display is a warm combination of a luxury kitchen island in flannel grey colour and a cabinet wall made from top to bottom of veneered walnut, with continuous structures in both vertical and horizontal direction. To stress the purist character of the design, all the kitchen equipment is concealed behind a sliding wall, and the architectural possibilities of the room are optimally used for extra storage space.
An exclusive SieMatic PURE kitchen in trendy matt black lacquer and veneered oak steals the show. The 6-millimetre version of kitchen surfaces, handles and worktops is exquisitely refined. The cooking island is fitted with a dining table, and the high cabinet wall offers sufficient room for all Siemens appliances. The smart niche, called the internally the 'butler office', offers room for a coffee machine or food processor.
Tailor-made interior design
Your kitchen should not be an island in your home, but an integral part of the total living experience, in line with your personal lifestyle. In the space leading to the first floor you can find even more inspiration for your own interior. The wall covered with SieMatic panels in SQ lacquer features an integrated sideboard with B&O's Shape sound system. On the first floor, your attention is immediately caught by a ceramic wall displaying the iconic Gaggenau 90 cm wide oven in the limited edition.
In this room, SieMatic has chosen a kitchen from the PURE lifestyle, planned as a wall unit for an apartment or a studio. Our designers have worked with different depths, so that the furniture does not immediately look like a kitchen. The wall unit is completed by the luxury stainless steel wine cooler and fridge from Gaggenau range.
Classic grandeur in the Dreamroom
The first floor of the mansion exudes the atmosphere of Amsterdam's great past with its oak parquet floors in Hungarian tip, ornaments, panelling and marble fireplaces. The luxury kitchens of the SieMatic CLASSIC lifestyle fit in perfectly. A small kitchen area is inspired by an Amsterdam canal house. The exclusive kitchen surfaces in brushed stainless steel are combined with matte black surfaces for the tall units. The chrome-plated steel extractor hood is the real eye-catcher.
The architectural style of the renowned American kitchen designer Mick deGiulio has been taken as a starting point in the opposite space. Especially for SieMatic he designed the BeauxArts collection, with characteristic symmetrical forms, open compartments and niches. It goes without saying that a prominent place has been reserved for the iconic Chinese wedding cupboard, a bespoke furniture unit designed by Mick deGiulio for SieMatic. A true showpiece, graphic and multifunctional, equipped in our display with the built-in fridge-freezer combination.
In the next en-suite room, overlooking the Singelgracht on the other side of the Stadhouderskade, you can admire a luxury handless cooking island with a continuous grip rail all around. The exclusive surfaces are made of smoked oak with a horizontally continuous structure. A brilliant example of timeless and trendsetting handless kitchen design, introduced by SieMatic in 1988. The original, classic details of the architecture have been carefully preserved in this room. The tall cupboard furniture for appliances and the glass china cabinet stand free from the wall so that the original panelling can be admired. The ceiling has also been kept in original condition, making the famous Raimond chandelier of the Dutch design brand Moooi stand out as a real masterpiece.
SieMatic goes much further than classic kitchen planning and offers complete interior concepts. Our goal is to create harmony in all areas of your home. In the adjoining room, we have designed a home office featuring a SieMatic table and two independent wall units. On the other side, overlooking the Vondelpark, you’ll discover the living room decorated in cooperation with Co van der Horst in Amstelveen. The wall unit with an integrated Gaggenau wine cooler, a B&O television and Walter Knoll table, chairs and armchairs radiate luxury and sophistication.
